Fed up with American cRap? Canadian Rap is on the come-up

Today's American Hip-Hop/Rap is garbage.

I listen to Canadian Rap.

Toronto Rappers like Luu Breeze,Shaun Boothe, Saukrates,Tona,k-oas,Frankie Payne and Cali Snipes are putting out quality stuff. Singer Colin Munroe (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUVV_i--03k) has a One Republic/Matthew Santos vibe going on. He has done some work with Drake.

I guess it's gonna take a little more time for PPM to knock out these awful large market Hip-Hop stations (Hot 97/NY,Power 105.1/NY,Power 99/Philadelphia,etc).

Check out the OTA (www.hiphopcanada.com) Live Show on Flow 93.5 (www.flow935.com)-(stream) Toronto. It airs Tuesday (10pm-1am) and Thursday (11pm-1am) nights. You will hear exactly what im talking about. You will notice the difference. The Tuesday night show has a Countdown segment from 11pm-midnight. Most of the artists in the countdown are from Toronto.

Drake isn't the only Rapper in Toronto.

The problem is most people in New York still associate Canadian Hip Hop with Snow :D
BTW, Flow 93.5's ratings and cume are a lot less impressive than those of Hot 97 or Power 105...

The song "Informer" was hot back in the day. :)
Flow 93.5 plays too much American garbage. People in Toronto tune out because of all the crap from Atlanta and really bad American R&B.There are a few college stations that people tune into at night and on the weekends. They get the real Hip-Hop on those stations.(http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/Music/article/418823).
The Jolly's (Flow93.5's owners) think Toronto is a suburb of Atlanta. I only listen to the specialty shows when I go up there or listen online. Also, the black population in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) is small. Most of the young blacks are first generation Canadians. Most of their parents were born in Jamaica,Guyana and Trinidad. Most area Rappers relate more to Brooklyn Rappers (large Caribbean population also) than Atlanta or New Orleans. The Jollys must find a way to mix local Hip-Hop (for the small black population) and the Pop Crossover stuff (for the larger population). Playing any and everything outta of Marietta,Georgia isn't working for Flow 93.5. Toronto College Radio all the way.
