A mixup in ministers prompted ABC News Radio to issue an emergency order to 1,300 affiliates to kill Paul Harvey's news and commentary broadcast on Wednesday.
Harvey, 86, whose Chicago-based broadcasts routinely rank at or near the top of the most widely heard radio programs on the planet, meant to deliver a commentary on the controversy over Christian Broadcasting Network host Pat Robertson's call to assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
But after the 15-minute taped broadcast already had been fed to affiliates for airing, sources said, it was discovered that Harvey had mistakenly referred to the Rev. Jerry Falwell, another prominent Christian minister, instead
