Feeds taken by cable companies in Mountain Time Zone

This is a follow-up to a discussion started in this thread...

As previously mentioned, Arizona is on Mountain Standard Time year-round and does not observe Daylight Savings Time. Most, if not all, cable companies in the state take the West feed for dual-feed cable networks. This means that popular cable programs such as "Monk" on USA, "Real World" & "Laguna Beach" on MTV, "Nip/Tuck", and "The Shield" on FX, air at 11pm from the last Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April (and 10pm from the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October.) Taking the East feed would mean that these programs would air at 9pm from October-April but 8pm from April to October. A suggestion was made (by oldiesfan) for these companies to take the East feed from October-April and the West feed from April-October.

I'm wondering about cable companies in other parts of the Mountain Time Zone (where Daylight Savings Time IS observed.) Do these companies take the East feed for dual feed networks? West feed? Or is it a mix of East and West feeds? (Remember that some networks offer only one feed, such as CNN and ESPN.)

Here in Denver, Comcast takes the East Coast feed for a majority of it's cable channels (including FX, TNT, USA, NICK, ect...)

When I lived in Phoenix that was the thing I hated most about Cox.

Comcast here in Salt Lake uses east coast feeds for the majority of their channels.

Thanks. Question (Dawn_H, this is for you as well) - by taking the East feed, a "controversial" show like Nip/Tuck will air at 8pm. I know that the FCC doesn't control cable content (and IMHO, they shouldn't!)...but I'm just wondering if Comcast receives complaints about a program like airing during "family-friendly" viewing hours.

The major complaint I hear here in SLC about Comcast mostly is about cost of service. I have Dish Network here mainly because of that.
It pains me to say that Cox in Phoenix is cheaper than comcast.

I haven't heard the issue of East/West Feed come up here.

As does Comcast here in Denver, though there are a few channels where they take the West Coast feed. FX on Channel 27 is one of them. For awhile, they WERE carrying the East Coast feed of FX, but now they're back to the West Coast feed.

That means I have to stay up late to catch my favorite show, "The Shield" and maybe any reruns of "24" they may have this season.

I keep hoping Comcast would like put the East Coast feed on Digital Channel 127 or something, but they apparently (for whatever reason) choose not to.

Again....Just my $.02 worth :)
______________

If what you say is true Dawn, then WHY is it that "The Shield" on FX comes on at 11:00 PM rather than 8:00 PM?

Just testing your knowledge :)

Cheers for now & Happy Holidays everyone :)
______________
