female Rappers ! Where U at !

Pop artist are taking over ! Some music Award Shows ,cut out The solo Rap female award . When I listen to Urban and Chr/R stations , I hear Pop female Artist ,Singing Hip Hop songs . I Love songs from Fergie,Nelly furtado and Gwen Stefani ( Yo ! That My Sh--) But what happen to The Foxy Browns,Lil Kims,Yo Yo,Salt N Pepa,MC Lyte, Or any up and coming, New rap female artist ? I was watch a show on BET, and someone on the show said that" there are No Female rap Artist , Because the record companies has no need for them ..The reason is , Because the way foxy Brown and Lil kim started there music careers being half naked on there video's, and Now the male Rap Artists , have Half naked Female Models on there Video's , there no need for Female Rap Artist" . So did Lil Kim and Foxy Brown Killed The female Rap artist ? Or is The Female Rap Artist, is just in a slump right now ?

you said it right there buddy. Nelly Furtado, Gwen Stefani, Fergie are pop artists with hip-hop appeal. I think of these artists as JJ Fad's mixed with Salt N Pepa. Their music is fun and universal and appeals to everyone. But like u said the true female MC is gone since the uprising of Gwen Stefani leading to Fergie and Nelly Furtado. It kinda reminds of of the old school fun hip-hop sound. It definately serves a balance between the hip-hop on the radio. but thats just my opinion and i would love to see someone elaborate and discuss further.
