After every single freaking song on WXMA there's a female (kinda sounds like Katrina Blair) saying the title and artist of the song.. then either a sweeper fires or the jock's voicetrack starts.. what in the world is ol' George doing now?

It sounds horrible!

I like it!

That 200,000 grand in research and the results are a womans voice and more bad 80s pop and what else oh yeah the cure just like heaven and depeche mode just like heaven and peter searcy's believe well did mainline get there moneys worth with there research?

Lets see what else did we get well we got a new old rock station which is all right but i would rebrand it k rock a well known brand"the all new 105.1 k rock everything that rocks" and we know what we got with the max.

Well we shall see what the trends show. I think the 105.1 signal is doomed reguardless of what you put on it and to make it work if it can you would have to put alot of money into it but whatever just one mans opinion.

The female voice on Max is something they are doing on LTJ in Pittsburgh and other various AC stations in the country.

I personally dont like the image either. However, we all think like radio people, because thats what we are. One of the best statements ever made was "When you think of the listener, the most unrealistic and illogical thought is what they think is logical."

Listeners biggest complaint in Arbitron diaries and Research Studies...they dont know what songs are playing and no one ever announces the song anymore.

Im not saying this is good or bad, but just remember...think outside of the box. It might scare you, but its what the listeners want.

Yep. That's why I hope it sticks.

How about just letting the jocks do a quick back and front sell now & then? Does reasearch show that listeners are okay with an automated voice vs a real DJ?

I don't listen to AMZ but is that a bad thing? I know if I'm a artist or label rep I'b be kissing their butt's for the mention.

Very, very true. What sounds silly is the pre-produced packaged voice (probably not local but corporately produced) followed by the D.J. Why have the D.J. even on if the canned, pre-fab produced voice says it?

LOL - that reminds me of the old "RIVER"... anyone remember RIVER 947 "rock n roll faviortes"... out of a stopset the jock would come on and pre-sell the next 3 songs.. they'd run back to back then to jock would announce the next song dry... then into a stop set they jock would presell the back two songs.. the station had no imaging just the jock giving "The title and artist of every song we play"... WVEZ use to go into a stop set with the jock reading off the last million songs they'd just played...

At least WXMA is trying a different approach at it!

it's very robotic sounding and redundant. everybody accuses cc of being cookie cutter but this is VERY cookie cutter, as is the approach at cox nationwide. same liners, same phrases, same playlists for nearly everybody.
