Female Voice Overs

How come there are no female voice people for smooth jazz? I wonder if that would help smooth jazz radio in a way but I'm guessing not. The one on WJZT's website intro page (www.wjztfm.com) is really good but she isn't on there voicing on air. The only voices I have heard are males.

Love 94 had Gina Martel who was great to listen to. Always enjoyed listenng to Sheri Marquit (spelling?) on Jones. How about some from the days of rock radio when it had a more free form sound, Anyone ever hear Meg Griffin? Love to hear her spin some cjazz.

when wjjz philadelphia re-signed on the new frequency a couple years ago, it was a female doing the voicers. i was quite pleased to hear it. now it's back to a male. i agree ... add more female voicers on smooth jazz. hey, at least those extremely stiff john butterfield voicers are gone. back in the day, john was on like every smooth jazz station under the stars. nice voice, but it got old really really fast.

I used to really enjoy Cheri Marquarat (sp?) on Jones, she didn't sound fakey. And when she was MD there they didn't have the B/EZ affactations that came into the music mix later.

Who is the guy who voices the BA Network...he made me want to put my fist though the windshield. Smoooth, smoooother, smooooothest..gag

That's Bill Cochran who's out of WNUA in Chicago. He's very good when you write decent material and then coach him on what you want. Look who's coaching him on the BA stuff...Oh that's right, there's no one there.

What time of the day is he on? Currently in the WIndy City for the next few days. Whoever does afternoon drive sounded terrible? Audio sounded like he was broadcasting from a shower when the mic was open.

Yeah, there is that...the sweepers they use are some of the most pretentious and vague sounding statements I've ever heard. Some of them totally made no sense.

Gee, that afternoon guy on WNUA should be Dave Koz.

zzzzzzzzzzzz, horrible! Why on earth are we still playing Earth Wind and Fire in the format? Koz is as vanilla as Dairy Queen. Side note XRT is confused. What a great station that used to be. Beauty of the rental, you can switch between terrestrial and Sirius at the click of the button. It ain't Watercolors but it wasn't BA.

The thing that is freaking me out is I saw Koz last Saturday and his show kicked well, you know. It was totally hard to believe that the person who was playing the music and delivering the personality/energy that was coming from that stage is the same guy who bludgeons you to death with vanilla pleasantries every afternoon on the network. He did a lot of stuff from "Lucky Man"..his pre BA past life and still my favorite of his CDs. Koz..can't you see what the crowd is standing and screaming about??
