1940: Actor Pete Duel (Alias Smith and Jones) is born in Rochester, New York.
1951: Actress Debra Jo Rupp (That 70’s Show) is born in Glendale, California.
1956: Journalist Paula Zahn is born in Omaha, Nebraska.
1991: Comedian George Gobel (The George Gobel Show, Hollywood Squares, Harper Valley) dies in Los Angeles after undergoing heart surgery, aged 71.
1994: Singer/talk show hostess Dinah Shore dies in Beverly Hills, California from ovarian cancer, aged 77 (just 5 days shy of her 78th birthday).
2006: Actor Dennis Weaver (Gunsmoke, McCloud) dies in Ridgway, California of complications from cancer, aged 81.
2006: Actor Don Knotts (The Andy Griffith Show, Three’s Company) dies in Los Angeles from cancer-related pulmonary and respiratory complications, aged 81.
2006: Vincennes University (Indiana) officially dedicates the $16.8 million Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, honoring the town’s most famous redhead.
