Ferrall in for Czabe...

...as I'm writing this he's saying goodbye to USA Today SW's Paul White; a nice baseball discussion that touched on the dislike that many people in baseball have for the perceived arrogance of the Cards manager and pitching coach (LaRussa and Duncan). The previous segment he chatted NHL with a Thrashers broadcaster and a Sens beat writer about the Heatley/Hossa trade. Great stuff. And in the segment before that he had a top-shelf FSR interview with their regular racing contributor, Michele Rahal. I don't give a rat's ass about Scott F's past indiscretions...he is terrific on the radio and what was significant about these three segments was that his guests knew that he knew his stuff. Hard to tell how he would respond to the everyday grind of a morning show...but surely he couldn't do any worse than Czaben spending at least an entire segment reading, literally, all one hundred-and something names, one at a time...the names of the people who will be helping determine a national champion. It was as if the man was trying to use up a segment. Comments?

YES! BRING HIM BACK!

Ferrall gets it. He can be outrageous and even insulting- but you don't GET insulted after listening to him.

I agree with you. Put Ferrall on in the mornings and you will have no idea how big FOX Sports Radio would get. I know I would listen to him religiously.

With so many sports talk hosts trying to cater to the hip-hop crowd it is refreshing to hear one try to cater to the rock crowd.

And as far as "past-indiscressions"- hey- he lost the national overnight gig primarily because he wanted to do the Thrashers Play-by-Play. He got canned by WNEW not for what he did- but for what Opie and Anthony did.

Surely Stern and Imus have done far worse than Ferrall ever did.

Ferrall in recent fill-ins has shown a bit of maturity that also makes for an improved show.

FOX has a Hall of Fame talent in his prime and they are using him like a utility infielder. It's time to get rid of the extravaganza for Ferrall- NOW!

Czaban has a good, if not great, show and I would hate to see him replaced (although he does need to back away from his golf obsession). That being said, I think Ferrall is a major talent, and Fat Asswood would be wise to find him a permanent slot on FSR. Injecting him into the Extravaganza instead of D. Stein would have been a smart move, but Asswood and smart moves seem to be mutually exclusive.

the 'new' Extravaganza is almost as unlistenable as the old one that featured Van Earl Wright teaming with Bitterman Siciliano and the gal. Earlier this week the new guy Stein and Siciliano got big belly laughs out of calling their show 'two Jews and a shiksa'. Bitterman. What a great (and appropriate) nickname.

Dr. Rick. You remember me. You and I need to talk. You remind me of someone I know (and am related to!)...who also needs (in my humble view) to be disabused of certain opinions...

Stien is even WORSE than VEW

I mean, at least VEW IS a sportscaster.

You may not think he is a particularly good one, but he has enough work experience to present a responsibility and professionalism that Stien simply does not have.

If you look at Stien's resume on the San Antonio radio station, he proudly lists play-by-play of American Legion Baseball.
