Ferrall

Why does Scott Ferrall's voice sound so bad? Does he smoke? Has he done drugs? If I were a program director, I would opt to not have him in because of how annoying and grating on my nerves the voice is. I don't understand why FSR lets him fill in for JT the Brick's primetime slot.

Only when I am working on a Saturday morning and am so tired that the voice in my radio does not register completely, I can deal with Ferrall for a segment, maybe two. Another thing about FSR: Where were the Out of Bounds boys on Wed., Czabe intro'd someone else going into the 9am EST hour. Another schedule change for FSR? When is the merger between FSR & SNR going to happen, already? There should be enough talent to make almost a full ineup between the 2 networks. Personally, I wish Czabe were on a bit later so I could hear the whole show. My local affiliate changes from FSR to SNR so I go from Czabe to Bruno, which is good, but I'd like to hear the reair of the First Team.

The Ferrall family actually has gravel voices.

His father, who was a TV newsman, had one- though not as distinct or defined as Scott's.

To tell you the truth in sportscasting you can get away with it. Is Scott Ferrall's voice any worse than that of Howard Cosell, Myron Cope, Mike Shannon, Art Rust Jr., Bruce Drennan, and a host of others?

I don't mind his voice either, what bothers me about him is
how strange he can act sometimes. I'll tune in to his show
occasionally and he is just straight-up weird, like he's on
acid or something. He's talking gibbrish and I can't decide
if it's an act or if he is certifiable.

...try this on for size. I forget after which Terrell Owens outburst...but after one of them...no more than nine months ago...Ferrall was on early Sat morning...and I swear on my grandma's grave...Scott Ferrall advocated the killing of Terrell Owens (as proper punishment for his 'sins'). On acid?!

Well, that's two

And you wonder why I love Scott . . . .

The man knows his stuff, but I can't get past the voice. It makes me uncomfortable.

He has got to get a national gig and get back to his Ferrall on the Bench show and the format. I can totally hear him late nights doing the daily wrap up on sports and whatever else is going on. I seriously think CBS radio should take a look at him and roll him out to all of their Free FM's.
