Feud question

Celebrating 30 years is a big one for Family feud.
I understand the original family feud was hosted by Richard Dawson.
I also understand he may not be able to host a special evening edition(or any edition) any time soon, but how about a guest appearance on the "new" feud that will air in the fall?
Why not?
Even if he's just a member of the audience. Standing up while everyone claps.
Perhaps have him up to ask one question?
That would be a nice way to celebrate 30 years, wouldn't it?

BTW, Does this question belong on this board?...or the National board.
We are refering to a show that will air in the fall, but we are also discussing a classic host.
______________

Richard Dawson is about 163 years old now and if you saw his disastrous attempts at trying to host his old show back around 1994 or so when Ray Combs got fired, you might reconsider your suggestion about having him on stage even to ask one question.

By the way, Steve Beverly on TVGameShows.net has an excellent audio piece regarding the Richard Karn/John O'Hurley switch, whether it might work to stop the ratings slide (which is probably the real reason Karn wasnt brought back), and other shows where hosts were replaced mid-run.

> Richard Dawson is about 163 years old now

Richard hosted a feud marathon recently on Gameshow network and looks to be the same age as Bob Barker, perhaps even younger.
He was in good health for that. I agree with the guest apearance idea.
Having him ask a question couldn't hurt any.

Bob's the one that looks 163, not Richard, and he's still hosting TPIR.
Nice try.

I'm only going by the last time I saw Dawson on the air hosting Feud back after Ray Combs was fired. He looked and acted pathetic and old...in my opinion.

Bob Barker doesnt look a day over 99! Yet, the college kids love him. Too bad he cant hear what they are saying. But he also gets to work with gorgeous models every day. No wonder he wont retire.

I did miss the 1994 episode, but I saw the Gameshow network Feud marathon where in between reruns, he commented on how things were, etc.
Very good. Sounded ok to me. Having him up for one question shouldn't hurt any.
The question is, can he still Yell "Survey said!" or would that hurt him?
I'm not aware of Richard's *current* health.
______________
