Feuding Hosts at 1010 KXXT

Just a moment ago, I got through listening to Mike Newcomb and he, as well as State Representative/substitute host Kirsten Sinema and callers were going after syndicated talker Ed Schultz, whose show is also on KXXT. This stemmed from a phone call Sinema made to Schultz today where she praised the efforts at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum while Schultz, through accounts from other callers, disagreed with her. Newcomb and his callers were calling Schultz a "Republican posing as a liberal."

Certainly, between hosts fighting each other and Air America's current controversy, this is going to be some interesting times at KXXT.

Sinema is a marxist, so far to the left that anyone is her enemy.

Another ninny on the radio.

Eric,
This is something I have a hard time understanding: the big shift of people's core principles from one political outlook to another. Whether it's Big Eddie, Tammy Bruce, or Ronald Reagan, a major change in thinking, suddenly rejecting stands espoused not long ago may be a valid epiphany, but others may suspect how genuine the change is. Randi Rhodes has also made similar insinuations that Shultz may not be the genuine article.
Is it sour grapes because Schultz is a compelling host who's taken off, or do they genuinely feel he's not what he seems?
Giving Shultz a bit of a break, if you were once a true-blue conservative, and you rethought the wisdom of that stance, (or vice versa, for that matter), occasionally not siding with your new allies is understandable.
In fact, even among people I disagree with, I at least respect someone who decides issues on their merit rather than just parroting prepackaged talking points. Talk show hosts who seem to have no minds of their own ultimately become tedious, even if they have the personality to carry them through for a while.

the other gal on air america Rhodes called shultz an interloper...

Good. Competition is good: may the better show win. Actually, there's room for both lefties.

If Phoenix can support the twin right wing diatribes on 960 and 550, then at some point there should be room for more than one left radio program.

XM just moved Big Ed off the Air America channel to take the full, live feed of Randi Rhodes. That puts two voices on against the dozens of local yahoos and right wing blowhards.

XM has said it will drop Colmes from its Air America channel when its contract (to carry Colmes) runs out. It's unclear when that will be.

Not soon enough.
