Few Questions... Any thoughts?

Hi All, I'm a long-time browser of the boards. Reaching out for some thoughts on a couple of programming thing.

Interested to hear what anyone has to say. Possibly moving into a MD/PD role in the near future, and these are things that interest me.

I'm working on a Rhythmic/CHR format. Heritage station playing this format for the last 16 years. We target primaraly 10-24yrs and secondary 10-34...

1. Power Intros - I know these are possibly a lil' played out in the U.S, But are fairly untouched here, or at least not with this format & not well. Can anyone give me some background on how these are best programmed in an hourclock to acheive maximum effect?

2. The station has been running (i believe since it,s inception) hour header, stating the time. These run 24/7 - 365... They are cold spoken and where applicable run over the top of song intro's.. What your thoughts on this? How relevant is this?

3. G-Selector / Next Gen... How can I get more info or ideally a user manual on this software? I have been looking everywhere online and besides the available info & slides at the home pages of both ...im finding not much at all. Even on their boards? And quick question.. Can you adjust tempo/pitch on songs in the G-Selector database? Are we still pitching SOME stuff up?

Anything you can offer on any of those topics would be really interesting.
Thanks in advance

I will share as much as I can. Drop me a e-mail. Maybe we can trade Ideas and that goes to anyone on the board.

I cannot offer any advice on the Rhythmic format, but I just wanted to wish you best of luck in achieving your goals. It sounds like you have aspirations of creating a very classic, 'hot' sounding station that I'm sure will be a breath of fresh air to those who hear it. Best wishes.

Not certain what you mean by "power intros"...?? Is this imaging/staging??? No issues with your top-of-hour if that's been working. You should be able to adjust pitch in your nextgen....its done in the actual play software, not in the scheduling software.

Thanks for the feedback guys. WCJS I flicked you an email.
