Fig Newton's problem(s)?

Over the years I've heard from people, or read on-line posts that generally mention DJ Fig Newton's "demons", but I've not seen anything spelled out exactly what he did or was "into". Was it illegal? Was it "sick", or both? What was it, if it can be said?
 
Shortly after Fig tried to make a comeback at WWWE circa 1988 it came out that he had previously been busted in a kiddie porn sting in Colorado.
 
Too bad he still isn't around today. Since that's a felony he practically would be guaranteed a job at WWWE. He'd fit in well with Jim Traficant & Bruce Drennan. Clear Channel would be falling all over themselves trying to get him hired.

When Fig returned to 3WE, Carl Monday knew of the charge and court case - Fig had no idea anyone in Cleveland knew. Carl showed up at the 3WE door after management had gone (he timed it on purpose) and asked if he and a camera man could enter - said he wanted to do a piece on welcoming Fig back to town. And once the cameras were rolling - BAM! Like an early version of To Catch a Predator. It was devastating and highly embarrassing to all involved.

A few years later I heard Fig was working at (I think) a JC Penny's, selling suits. Anyone have an update?
