Wow, I didnt see Andy as the announcer. I think it would be great for them to do a desk drive of LA as their first opening bit together. And since Conan is now in LA it should be very easy for Andy to do other things if he wanted to outside of the Tonight Show.

That announcement was kept in a hermetically sealed envelope in a mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnall's porch since noon today. NO ONE had seen the contents of said envelope until now.

The show also ran over by 8 minutes from it's normal end time (ended at 1:42 AM ET), so those with a DVR probably got the last few minutes cut off.

I'm curious as to why they let him run over. Does he have that much clout that allowed NBC to scrap the schedule?

Sure - it's a one-shot thing, and the show normally ends at 1:35 in the morning..so why not? If you'll notice, the networks are playing with this more and more - even in prime time. A special episode or season finale of a show (dramas in particular) might run a few minutes over, so they just adjust the schedule accordingly.

Yeah...heaven forbid they cut short the worst half hour on t.v(Carson Daly :)...I'd rather watch reruns of The Magic Hour or the Terry Bradshaw Show!
