Final Days for Movin 93.9?

They're running promos in Spanish for the new Spanish language format at the end of stopsets on Movin this morning.

I guess it will depend how they attack, but KSSE is failing and KXOL is sliding fast. I've heard it will be somewhere in between KLVE and KSSE - but that's been all rumor. Don't see the revenue hole here -- and if they go after KLVE - are they splitting a 4 share 25-54? KMVN had a 2.5-3.0 share...

Richard Wagoner wrote a rather scathing piece on Emmis...and Movin 93.9
http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/ci_12129948

Very uninformed. The station was the fastest growing station of the last six months until AMP's launch...
As Emmis' own spokesperson said the station was still not making money.

Sales had not caught up to the ratings increases apparently.
Emmis has made a lot of mistakes and Movin is a poster child for that. Even the current incarnation of Movin was a mess with a playlist that was all over the road including a number of non-hits and had little chance of sustaining its mediocre ratings growth. It's to the point the grim reaper is at Emmis' front door. With reports yesterday that they are trying to renegotiate their debt terms and/or credit lines which they have tapped out - with the Movin lease to sale just to get some quick cash - and sales for May for the radio side of the company are down 37% plus plumeting publishing revenue, this company won't last much longer. Movin will just be the first in this round of sales of their properties. Emmis is well on its way to being history and the sooner the better. Hopefully Power will be picked off by a better broadcaster and likely not one in this market currently.

I doubt that Movin 93.9 is in their final days. Emmis just partnered with Gen2Media is March to develop and launch an online television channel for the station.

Movin' becomes Exitos 93.9 tonight at midnight. There are promos on the air, in Spanish, saying so.

Emmis and the new LMA operatior of KMVN, Grupo Radio Centro, issued press releases about 10 days ago indicating the new arrangement and the end of the Movin' format in LA.

But you are right in a way. Movin' is not in it's final days. It is in its final hours.

Dees is signing off right now with the play of "Disco Duck."

Anything else I might say would likely be deleted...

Movin is GONE. Where are you? Dees didn't even show up for the last day. All he did was pre-record a sort-of goodbye and redirected people to rick.com and AllNumber1Hits.com that the rest of the morning show played just now. They're playing Disco Duck now.

Could somebody aircheck the final hour of Movin' and the opening hour of Exitos? Since I don't live in the market it would be cool to hear.
I doubt anyone will be on the air during their final hour. Tera Bonilla is on now live. Still saying "Movin 93.9, the all new mix that makes you move"...too funny.

Dees didn't go out very graciously considering he didn't even show up for what likely will be his final morning show in Los Angeles. Mark Wong and Patty Lopez introduced his pre-recorded sort-of goodbye. They had been playing Best of Rick Dees all morning. They played Disco Duck after the spots and the final words came from a listener "I'll miss you Rick Dees" before they went into Tera Bonilla's show.

I wonder if Patti Lopez will be part of the new jock line-up on Exitos 93.9? Grupo Radio Centro would be wise to keep her around. For a chicana born in Inglewood she speaks very good spanish. I liked what I saw of her on LA TV Ch. 57.

Highly untalented as she proved to be a liablity to Rick Dees and Movin. Nobody on Movin will be on the new format. Nobody.

They may be planning to do most of the format from Mexico City... the same way they do for other smaller markets they operate in in Mexico.

right when i was starting to like the station.it allways happens.is anyone able to record the final minutes of movin tonight?thanks...

The, in the new station name on air on Movin, Exitos 93.9 promos are increasing tonight. They include hooks of the music they will be playing. Based on the longer promos tonight, I'd agree they're going after KLVE and KSSE.

And what will Movin's last song be...the very predictable Donna Summer Last Dance?

...I always thought she was saying Let's Dance.

Buh bye, Movin. Don't let your stale ass of a wanna be 80s all over the place now we're a Lowrider oldies okay now we're not station hit you on the way out.

Well the Spanish music on their HD2 seems all-over-the-place from
soft AC to live sounding rock, to
slightly urban, no IDs or liners.
Still other foreign Language programming
on 67KHZ SCA, sorry I cannot
check 92KHZ
Other thing about Movin lately
has been strange audio processing
mixed with reeverb on many of
the songs

any way to get to the web stream? if there is still one out there? (wants to listen from houston) lol
I really can't answer your question other than saying that even the Power 106 stream that had been up on the Movin 93.9 website is now off. It was on even after they put up the goodbye page.

You can still access the entire Movin 93.9 website, but not from the homepage, which includes which songs are now playing. You have to access from one of the pages on the site such as http://www.movin939.com/morningshow/index.aspx

The processing on Movin reminds me of late 1970's FM, loud, compressed and distorted. Not that I don't like that. I do. Still there is nothing like AMP's processing for being loud, compressed and yet clean. Best I've ever heard but I would not expect less from Scott Mason.

One thing I will NOT miss from Movin. I hate the way they have been chopping up songs. I detest stations that heavily edit the intros to songs and segue out of songs before their natural endings as they do all the time.

I Didn't Like The Station But It Cool When It First Launch Playing Music 80's Thru 2000's But Say Goobye To Movin Finally But I am Recording The Final 10 Hours And Will Upload To My Site Http://jasonharper2009.multiply.com

Who Ever Wans To Listen It Also Has Local Commericals Only 4 Minutes Per Break For Those People Out side Southern CA Area
