I wouldn't know since I never listened, but I think in Spanish on LA TV she was great and she's from the area. She would be a good fit with the new Spanish Hot AC format. This won't be "umpa umpa" / accordion mexican music. haha
The talent on 97.7 and Joya, the two GRC stations that straddle hot AC, don't sound "chilango" in any way. They just sound good.
Remember, all Mexican TV comes out of Mexico City, and it works.
Of course, I am an alumnus of the Radio Centro organization...
