Finally....A Dance Station has Arrived In Las Vegas!

And Its coming from 94.5 FM KMOA/Moapa. They signed on the air at 6AM (PDT) today (May 2nd) playing the biggest dance records of the last ten years. They're billing themselves as "Rehab Radio."

Gotta admit, the name of the station does sound peculiar. I'm also reading that the station's transmitter is located pretty far from Vegas, and that the coverage area leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully the signal booms into the Strip.

It seems like all dance stations suffer signal handicaps, unfortunately.
If this remains as a dance station next year, guess where I'm going when I turn 21 :)

Rehab Radio...sounds like a stunt

Well, All Access and FMQB's Dance webpage seems to have a different take on this new station, so this might be the real deal. Personality I'm still wondering why they pick a name like "Rehab Radio," unless they debuted with Amy Winehouse's "Desert Eagle Remix" of "Rehab" for the launch.

Yes Jimi, and its mostly, as FMQB Dance columnist Cary "Mr. Dance" Vance puts it, "...In West Coast History."

When I think of "West Coast History," these artists come to mind: Angelina, Spanish Fly, Stacey Q, Cause & Effect, Katalina, Nu-Shooz, Pure Sugar, Wild Orchid, Jocelyn Enriquez, 3rd Party, Timmy T, M:G, and CeCe Peniston, among others. I hope they'll place more than just "West Coast" artists.

weren't all the amber/cox/kim english/reina/veronica etc records dance hits over there?I know that most of them crossed over to Z 100 back in the day when I was selling them at The Record Connection and banging them out at The Bunkhouse, I assumed they made their way to the West Coast

Okay, not a fan of this station at all so far, and I havent even heard it...appearantly no one in Vegas can hear it either

So as it turns out you can't pick it up in the Strip! The name of the station's no good, the signal is pathetic as far as actually reaching populated areas, and there's no website nor stream. Off to a really great start ::)

Yeah I heard 94.5 today and all I heard was STATIC........Rehab Radio what a joke.....I cannot believe this is a real station. Can they really be serious? Do they really expect this signal to be heard in Vegas? I found a link to their stream and it is awful. I have not found a website for this station yet but I am looking. I did find www.vibevegas.com but there was only a black screen. Weird I think I am going back to www.trancefuryradio.com.....much better station.

Thanks for the link to both stations. Trance Fury is pretty good.

I dont think they are gonna keep calling it rehab radio, it seems like to me that the name is going to be The Vibe, based on the calls, and the stream title.

I'm hearing the stream and I'm sensing that this "Rehab Radio" is just a stunt and NOT the format. It's like I've said with Pulse 87 and I'll say it with this station...give it time :)

Tony's partially right. They did change their calls to KVBE and dropped the "Rehab Radio" moniker for "Vibe 94.5." But for those who though that this Dance format was a stunt, guess again. Its being co-consulted by Dance radio vets Trevor Simpson from KNGY/San Francisco, Joel Salkowitz from WNYZ/New York City and Mark "Tik Tak" Allen.

I've heard that 2 of the 3 listed are correct. But of course, until they have some sort of official announcement I won't say anything publicly. ;)

John is right...I hear from the ground there that although Mark did put the format together and on the air.....Joel and Trevor are the ones taking VEGAS....

Any difference in playlist yet, are they still playing their 90 minute loop of gold and recurrents?

Okay ive been listening to the stream here at work for the last 20 minutes, so far this station rocks. They have BY FAR the best, most killer Imaging of any dance station ive heard, but they happen to be using my favorite Voice Guy of all time, Mitch Craig, the same guy who does KWIN V.O,,, he also used to do alot of CHR and Urban stations in the 80s and 90s, ive even heard him on some Country and Rock stations, but the imaging package, and the playlist just Rocks... It does play a little bit, not much Urban, like AKON-Dangerous. The only thing I dont like about this station is the fact that the signal is 90 miles away from Vegas, but as an online stream its really fun.

I just found the stream and was listening for a bit, but it kept re-buffering constantly. Kinda odd, since the winamp streams that play through iTunes are usually the most dependable. Who knows, maybe there are a lot of people streaming it tonight. I'll check it out again later and see if the stream is any better.
