WILM is finally airing some ads during Rush's show. Sounds like they sold a package to Middletown stores, as several short ads air as one 30 or 60 second spot, all Middletown businesses. I don't make a habit of listening to the other Clear Channel stations, so I don't know if this was a package with the whole cluster or not. Could be, with WILM and maybe WDOV thrown in as a bonus.
Instead of all of those annoying PSA's why couldn't WILM drop in 60-seconds of local news headlines (recorded, of course) or plugs for local events, that would change on a regular basis? They could run on both WILM and WWTX, maybe even WDOV.
Hearing the same promos and PSA's day after day after day is very annoying. Frankly, I've gotten to the point that I hit the off button on the car radio when "The General's" ad comes on. No that is not a PSA, but it drives me over the edge after hearing the same ad at the same time every day for a year. Show some imagination folks! Make believe it is a real, professional radio station! When WDEL had the Rush/Hannity line-up, the spot breaks varied considerably (of course, they had a live board op who could actually talk). Now that WILM is getting its act together in so many ways, its time to work on the image issues that make the difference between small market and medium market sound.
