Find a new way to fundraise 1049 the River

Does any one think 1049 the river could find a new way to get donations? I think more people dont listen on the days they do fundraising. Its bad radio. Thoughts?

Public Radio has the same problem. Fund Drives typically drives some listeners away, at least until the fund drive is over. The River has the advantage in that they also get funding from commercials which Public Radio can't do. Some Public Radio stations allow businesses to pay a certain amount of money to have their establishment mentioned on air as supporting public radio (underwriting). This could be extended to listeners, if they donate a certain amount, the station could wish so and so a Happy Birthday, a couple times a day, or Happy Anniversary.

I work for Moody's WCRF in Cleveland........the goal at this year's SHARE was 1.55 million....the listeners put us at 1.6 with 10 minutes left in the four day fundraising campaign. In Cleveland (an economically distressed area) the listener loyalty to WCRF is incredible. I helped at the Moody Women's conference in Cleveland this weekend. They added a day because the one day event sells out over a month in advance........God has tapped some very loyal folks in this region. Incredible. WCRF is celebrating 50 years of broadcasting in November.

will---wcrf is a moody owned/operated NON-Commercial broadcast MINISTRY serving metro Cleveland and NE Ohio for over 50 years. they set standards for excellence and integrity that few stations can replicate, let alone imitate. their financials are evaluated annually by the evangelical council on financial accountability as well as their local accounting service.
wcrf is NOT ASHAMED to LIFT HIGH THE BANNER OF CHRIST to the community thru programming and local support ministry to the local churches.
when you are in the listening area, stop in at the studios on barr rd near independence(se suburban cleveland). meet the local staff and management. they will be glad to answer your questions and share CHRIST's love with you.
1049 in columbus is a hybrid station that sells limited advertising and underwriting opportunities as well as continuing to use involvathons to raise the annual operating budget. wcrf concentrates on being entirely listener supported. BOTH stations are faithful to the calling that GOD has specified for the needs of their local communities.

Well if its a non com then why is that is on the Commercial side of the FM dial? I can understand Community Radio WCRS 102.1/98.3 is on the commercial side since there is no room on the non com side since it is currently occupied by two non com Christian station that air's fear mongering talker James Dobson 89.1 FM and 91.5 FM.

I don't know anything about WCRF at all.

WCVO and their shell game of playing commercials as well as begathons or whatever may be legal but ethically, it looks shifty...at least from my perspective.

Of course, it doesn't matter what my perspective is since I don't work for, listen to or support what they do or don't do...so, it is a true outsiders POV.

How about a car wash with lots of high school chicks in bikinis :p Gotta be a fine upstanding, all girls, youth group out there willing to do the lords work.
