Finding The Sweet Spot

Doing some voicework with the Behringer VX2496 and B-1 microphone. Still having trouble trying to find the sweet spot. Seems pretty bright with not enough punch to it. I don't want to over compress for clients, but offer a good clean product. Any suggestions on settings for the mic and processor?

The language of our business has evolved through the years. I can remember when 'punch' was an attribute the announcer provided, invoked, brought forth.

Now people talk about the equipment, the audio chain providing 'punch'. How do you define this sought after effect?

Your point is well taken...how do you define it...but I'm just trying
to get the sound in the ballpark so any advice would be helpful.
