Finn, Globe: (WEEI, Sports Hub) "Talking a Good Game"

The sports war continues; thanks to BostonRadio tweet for heads up

http://www.boston.com/ae/tv/articles/2010/12/12/talking_a_good_game/?page=full

Finn says sure 98.5's ratings have really gone up but WEEI's have held their own. Also WEEI's claim that 103.7's numbers should be included led (ex-employee) Sheppard to wonder why their bonuses weren't bigger; article talks about diff. demos each station appeals to, the online presence,
cume vs. TSL; shifts WEEI made after 98.5 debuted...and how people may complain that D&C do
politics, but...it works. He compares and contrasts the different shows.

I added some comments on there, and right here I'd like to joke:

WBZ-FM: Radio for 30 yr old guys who still live in their mom's basement

WEEI: Radio for 50 yr old guys who still live in their mom's basement

The weekend version of 98.5 sounds a lot like WEEI. I regularly hear Joey the fake gangster, Screechy from Quincy, Steve from Fall River, John from Medford, and a bunch of other "celebrity callers". Pretty soon they will spread to the weekdays and the stations will be interchangeable; with the exception of Felger. He will always be the biggest a**hole in Boston.
