Is WRKO the worst run station in America? I don't pay any attention to that SaveRKO sight anymore, but maybe they're onto something.

Finneran has to be, now that Barnicle and Graham are gone, the worst major market morning talk show in America. Not just Boston, but anywhere. Has anyone heard worse?

And now he's in the papers because he's taking money from unions involved in issues hes supposed to talk about? I've never heard of that kind of corruption anywhere.

Then there is that crossover guy. He's not just bad, but he sounds like he's on the wrong station. It's like some bad urban FM station is bleeding onto WRKO's signal.

Then Rush, who can't be doing well in Boston.

Then Howie, a guy who begged to work somewhere else. Maybe the can make him work, but they can't make him sound like he wants tobe there.

If you didn't know it, you would think it was a radio station from some small town somewhere. It's got to be the worst.

UNBELEIVABLE. HOW CAN THEY LET HIM DO THAT? FINNERAN MUST HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET FIRED! TRULY A NEW LOW. THE ONLY GOOD NEWS IS HE MIGHT BE GONE. THE SAD THING IS WHILE HE'S SUCKING UP TO STATE POLICE OVERTIME HACKS THEY AREN'T LISTENING TO HIM. HE DOESNT APPEAL TO EVEN THE PEOPLE HE IS SUCKING UP TO!

Why am I writing in all caps? Angry I guess. I defended some decent voices on here before on both TKK and RKO and right now I feel insulted as someone who worked in the biz and lives in a 'world-class city' where I deserve good radio. For my money Howie is still funny and working for me EVEN THOUGH I don't agree with Howie on much. Eagen and Braude still get the job done if I've missed the morning news especially. Otherwise, I still think Ellen O'Brien on Saturdays is really good listening. I said it early on before she was polished up, I think her voice is better than Mariellens and McPhee's by a longshot and she engages people on a personal level and she and "Gonzo" seem to be having a good time. It's funny and informative and I'll take it over the other stuff I hear on either station.

NOW THE QUESTION IS: WHO WILL TAKE OVER FOR FINNERAN AND WILL THEY JUST ADMIT THEY MADE A MISTAKE?! Do they ever do that? (Hi Finn, I joined back on the discussion partly because I saw you started the thread!)

Completely agree - Ellen and Gonzo have a good vibe going and I have to hand it to her - she walks into the lions's den and does her liberal thang every week. You go girl.

Well, I'm not holding my breath. The question I'm interested in is - Is there a battle in this? No one seems to think Entercom will fight to keep him. Will Finneran try to get the remainder of his contract as a buy-out?

If he walks with any money from a contract settlement, the conspiracy theorists will say he planned it to get out of his miserable radio career and ratings knowing he would get dumped?
Is it possible as was suggested on another thread that RKO knew and let him pursue the job hoping to dump him?
One thing we know: Tom isn't going to leave money on the table and they'd have to pay him to fire him so that doesn't make much sense. It's not like he's Howie and worth fighting for..

Yes, my question too.... seems like a no brainer, but on the other hand, they have bigger problems to attend to.

For me personally, Dan Rea gets my ears at the moment. Savage is a black hole of blech.
