Anyone who has the Verizon FiOS service will have a new local news station starting tomorrow @ 5am....The station will be called FiOS 1 and will be on both channel 1 & in HD on channel 501.....The setup will be similar to CV's News 12 Networks who has a channel for each local area (LI, NJ, Westchester, etc.)....FiOS 1 will have seperate channels for NJ & LI (not sure if there will be any other channels)....There main target is CV's News 12 & TWC's NY-1.

I guess it would be better rephrased as: they will be modeled after News 12 and NY1. A "target" would give one the idea that they are competing for viewers from the other stations - then again, NY1 is carried on Cablevision's systems as well as their own News 12. It will be interesting to see how "phone company TV" (as Cablevision so snidely refers to them as ;D ) does in the regional cable news network business.
