FIOS TV Delay

Maybe because the show is produced at channel 7. Channel 6 gets it by satellite with a satellite lag.

And who knows how much of a delay either station uses in case they have to bleep a "live" show.

Comcast has at least a 15 minute delay between what is on the radio and what is online. That isn't a TV issue, but that is what they do with radio. You can be in the car listening to a station, and when you get back to the online broadcast the songs that were on in the car a little while ago are just coming on the stream - no matter the player.

Is he able to get both ABC affiliates over-the-air?

Here in New Britain, CT on Comcast and with the antenna, there's very little difference with that show on WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3 of Hartford. The Comcast signal of channel 3 is barely a second behind over-the-air channel 3.

Must be an industry 'technical thing'.

I am in Atlanta, GA. I have AT&T U-verse (Verizon/Fios) in the house except one TV in a spare room hooked to a digital over-air antennae. I could have two TV's on same (local) network, one room with U-verse, the other antennae..both out of sync by several seconds.

Obviously, over the air more in 'real time'....by the time Att picks it up by satellite, feeds it thru their network, it lags. Whether this is planned or just typical procedure, who knows.
