Fire at ABC News studios - Ch. 7 off the air

It was just reported on WCBS-2 news at around 11:25 pm that there is a fire at ABC News studios on the Upper West Side, and the entire building has been evacuated. No word on any injuries. Right now (11:35 pm) there is only a black screen on Ch. 7. Hopefully, everyone was evacuated safely and that the damage from the fire isn't serious.

I'm glad to hear nobody was hurt, and I hope they get things back up and running hear in the next few weeks.

They're lucky that Steve Bartelstein no longer works there because he would have slept through it all... ;D

I can tell you that channel 7 has been back on air since 1:00 AM. There are no injuries to the staff and crew, but the HD set sustained some bad damage. Eyewitness News This Morning has been broadcasting from the 4th floor newsroom. I have a feeling any and all E-N broadcasts will originate from the newsroom. And this wouldn't be the first time:

Haha! It was great to see Roger GLOOMsby (or DOOMsby) before he retired in San Diego and was at KUSI-TV for a time....a major step down obviously from when he was at WABC. You think he was GLOOM and DOOM you should have seen him before his sign-off into eternity!

HHHhhhmmmmm....Where was Steve Bartelstein? Does he have an Alibi? Could this be similar to the movie "Office Space"? Gotta get the I-Team on this case...pronto!!!

You know? I remember that! It was KUSI's first newscast. Not sure anybody knew who this guy was, but he looked really tired and really out of it. I thought "who is this, and where did they dig him up?" I would have never guessed how good he had been until recently when I found the clips on TV-Ark and YouTube. In retrospect, it's kinda sad how his career ended.
