Fire in Santa Clarita

Is Santa Clarita in danger? I can't reach family there. I'm worried, anyone there have any news? The fire looks terribly close on the federal fire map. If anyone is on line in that area, please post. What are the current conditions?

The LA Times reported that firefighters in Santa Clarita were fighting a three-acre brush fire two miles east of the Six Flags Magic Mountain on Monday afternoon.

According to the Times there were no homes threatened. The fire was burning in light-to-medium brush just south of a residential neighborhood near the intersection of Bridgeport Lane and McBean Parkway. The fire was reported at 3:51 p.m. and an hour later it was about 45% contained. If this is the fire you're worried about it seems like it's not a big threat.
