As a pure observer, I'm going to give the award for better coverage to All News over WSB. It seemed to me that WSB had non-stop coverage but didn't say anything, switching back and forth from their own reporters, and local and national TV coverage. Numerous silent pauses while they attempted to switch to listening in on a TV broadcast and spending a lot of time telling us that they couldn't tell us anything because they couldn't get closer and that the police had asked the chopper to move away and that they had a reporter en-route. All News was the first to actually make the connection and let us hear the 5:45 news conference from the Gwinnett officials and also to realize that while important, this event did not warrant hours of non-stop coverage. While I disagree with a lot of what Erick Erickson says during his 5-7 slot, I've enjoyed hearing his perspective on the drive home -- one of the few times during the day when WSB makes me think and I hate that he is so often pre-empted with the over-coverage of a traffic incident or some other localized news story. It is as if WSB is so afraid of being out-scooped or out-covered by All News, they over cover things that could wait until the top/bottom of the hour.
