Any reviews of the new Firfir, and Ryan Cameron show on 11 alive?

It's not bad, but not dazzling, either. I think Firfer is definitely the driver in the show right now, but she does have about a 12 year start on Ryan with live television, so that's not very surprising. Ryan does seem to handle himself pretty well for a different medium, however. I think he'll continue to improve as the show goes on.

I also really applaud that they are doing a number of spots with not-for-profit companies.

When you consider the demo of the audience, I think the content has set up pretty well. Landscaping companies, driving school for teens, Humane Society, breast cancer charities. Makes sense for who's watching at 11 AM.

Some of the camera work could improve a bit. Angles aren't great in a lot of shots.

I've read a couple of articles on this formet of show in the other markets and it seems to make a lot of sense. Given the rise of DVR, everybody and their brother fast forwards through the commercials, including myself. So, as far as innovation with regard to advertising, this seems to be a pretty smart idea.

It's an infomercial. Firfer is about as interesting a week old triscuit.

Ryan seems a bit out of place but there are flashes of things to come with him. My guess is once he gets more comfortable with the format, he'll not have to try as hard, and it'll become entertaining (at least in part).
 
Of course it's an infomercial, or advertorial, or whatever you want to call it. My point is that putting it into the talk/variety show format is a new way to attack it since people simply don't watch commercials anymore. Also, if you check out some of the articles on the programs of this nature in other markets, they are doing quite well.

I think Firfer is plenty interesting given the format, the fact that the show is new, and the product they are working with. It seems rather obvious that she is more comfortable on television that Ryan right now, which is to be expected. As I stated before, I think Ryan will definitely continue to improve and I'm looking forward to him getting a little more settled. I think it will improve the show.

I am a bit curious however as to why you would use such language to slight Firfer, and then right after that, admit Ryan's shortcomings while speaking to his beight future once he improves. We're not a bit biased for some reason are we?

Ratings wise, the show so far is doing about the same as the show it replaces, "Starting Over" (now at 3 p.m.). That is, it's ranked around sixth place last week, behind "Maury," "The View," "The Price is Right," the judge shows on Fox, and "Dawson's Creek." This is based on the first three days of Nielsen numbers. With a 0.9 average, that's about 50,000 viewers.

Sure. Fifer's a triscuit and Ryan's an entertainer. That's your bias. I've never met either of them, never crossed paths. I just happen to like those with at least modicum of talent.

I get 19,800 HH on a .9 rating in the Atlanta DMA...are there really 2.5 people 12+ per HH watching at 11am? My apologies, if I'm confused.

The average number of people in each household, according to Nielsen, is 2.6. Zero percent chance all those folks are actually in front of the tube at 11 a.m. So I'm sorry 'bout that. Typically at night, Nielsen ratings numbers convert to about 1.5 people. It might be lower during the day. But even given that ratio, the number of viewers was probably more like 30,000, not 50,000. Those were based on the first three days.

Over the entire week, “Atlanta & Company” had a 0.6 rating, which converts to about 18,000 viewers using the 1.5 persons per household ratio. In comparison, "The View" had a 4.3 rating, the two Fox Judge shows about a 2.9, "Price is Right," a 2.8, “Maury” a 2.0 and “Dawson’s Creek” a 1.0. A show on Univision 34 got a 0.5.
