would be interesting to see what numbers Brindis is bragging about on social media .
A lot of radio programs claim to be number one.Raúl Brindis: #1 or Just #1 at Self-Promotion?
I came across a post recently where Raúl Brindis proudly proclaimed his dominance in the radio world, celebrating his show’s expansion to 92.1 La Ley under the ownership of Raúl Alarcón. He credited Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) for the opportunity, hyped up the numbers as "incredible," and, of course, made sure to remind everyone that his show is #elshowmasperron (the baddest show around).
Now, I’m all for celebrating success. Anyone in this business knows that radio is a tough industry, and maintaining relevance takes talent and effort. But the real question here is, Does being the loudest about your success actually mean you’re #1? I don't have access to the numbers.
It’s no secret that Brindis has a well-oiled PR machine behind him, and when you have the right people backing you including Raúl Alarcón himself flying in to boost your ego it’s easy to create the illusion of dominance. But let’s take a step back and look at the facts. What do the real ratings say? SBS stations have struggled in multiple markets, and while Brindis does have a loyal following, calling his show #1 without actual ranking context is questionable.
At the end of the day, self-promotion is part of the business, and Brindis is a master at it. But if you're really #1, shouldn’t the numbers and industry respect do the talking instead of the Instagram captions?
What do you guys think? Does Raúl Brindis deserve the #1 title without real #s, or is this just another case of hype over substance?
The problem is that, at least initially, his strength is in 45+ and 55+. He does not seem to have any 18-34 or 25-44 appeal any longer. Again, the uncertified Nielsen ratings in Houston are always subject to doubt, particularly the weeklies.By the 3RD full book raul will be back on top!
So was he the number 1 Spanish morning show that week? The problem is that, at least initially, his strength is in 45+ and 55+. He does not seem to have any 18-34 or 25-44 appeal any longer. Again, the uncertified Nielsen ratings in Houston are always subject to doubt, particularly the weeklies.
Depends on the ratings company. Nielsen vs Media MonitorsSo was he the number 1 Spanish morning show that week?
Media Monitors uses Nielsen data, and principally processes things like song plays and even ad reach. They don't do a separate radio ratings service, just an analysis.Depends on the ratings company. Nielsen vs Media Monitors
Depends on Age Group
My guess , because i dont have access to Nielsen numbers, the younger Spanish age group, maybe more listeners on KLOL. Older Men maybe KROI. Older Women KOVE. Mixed them all up and filter what your station shows up best at, you can make something up an be #1
The picture on them being #1 has the fine print at the bottom.
Prelim data average. That was two weeks ago, who knows how they did last week and this week.

What did I miss?
Just noticed that KROI is now also advertising KVST-FM 99.7 in Huntsville, Texas.
Sorry if this was already discussed... I’m just now catching it!
Of course not this is a Florida station with a billboard in ft Myers . Just happens to have the same name and dial as the Houston one .That billboard is in the Houston area?
That's what I thought. Was just wondering since it was posted in Houston-Galveston.Of course not this is a Florida station with a billboard in ft Myers . Just happens to have the same name and dial as the Houston one .
Might want to take a look Stanley...Nowhere to go but down.
However, the updated version of Amalia González and my former "Recuerdo" is the #1 Spanish station in the sales demos. Raúl has very old demos for a Spanish language show.Looks like Raul is back on top and BMF has dropped in almost every market. KLTN #6 in Spanish? Knowing what 102.9 use to make and charge I can't see the jefes being very happy.
Still on top of once The Great KLTN….However, the updated version of Amalia González and my former "Recuerdo" is the #1 Spanish station in the sales demos. Raúl has very old demos for a Spanish language show.
