I know there have been quite a few previous posts on these stations but what about the company, First Broadcasting? Who runs them, what kind of company are they?

They are a brokerage company who buy non performing run down stations, fix them up,broadcast some type of oldies format and then sell them. In other words a real estate company more or less.

Actually their specialty is move-ins. They'll buy a rural FM that corresponds to an open frequency in a major market and then gerrymander a rimshot signal by paying other smaller market broadcasters to lower their power, shift frequencies, etc. The profit for these transactions can be considerable.

However in Dallas they are dealing with 2 AM's. They still operate as a real estate company, selling properties not programming.

First Broadcasting also owns KCLE 1140 Cleburne and they have applied for a considerable power increase, which would see them moving to 1110. In so doing a station on 1110 in Atoka OK would move to the Tulsa market on 1120 and KJSA 1120 Mineral Wells would shift to 1200 more than a thousand miles away in suburban Minneapolis. Messy, very messy.

Unless I'm mistaken, neither station has shown up in 12+.

But with no promotion at all, I am not sure how many people know about them.

And if they don't, how many people search for music ... on AM.
