Well First Broadcasting has been really good with keeping secrets. Does anyone know what will happen after Laborday weekend when 1190 is supposed to start playing comercials? Will they keep their current playlist, but more importantly: will they have an air staff? And what about Magic/1160? I really thought that they would have moved KCLE over to 1160 in order to compete with Country Gold. Speaking of KCLE, are they still sharing stufios with KTFW? I believe that they were for a while, but I also heard that they both moved somewhere.

I was in Cleburne over the weekend - according to KCLE, they're now broadcasting out of Nolan River Mall in S.W. Cleburne.

Chik, have you noticed that 1160 is now broadcasting only one channel instead of a combined left-and-right channel into mono? I'm hearing songs the last two weeks that are missing major elements of the sound. Knowing how bands in the 60s used to lay down vocals on one channel and instruments on the other (or put percussion on one, and everything else on the other, etc), I feel like I'm getting half a song sometimes!!

Based on the experience observed when they took over "Mighty", audio does not seem to be one of First's stronger areas. In fact, I was just having a conversation with someone today about how VERY little the radio "engineers" of today seem understand about even the basic principles of audio. Damn...audio is all they HAVE, yet so few seem to be concerned with the quality of their transmitted program audio. Or perhaps they simply haven't a clue as to what they are doing, so fixing the problem is well beyond them.

Kind of like tail I guess...a little piece is better than none at all!

No I hadn't listened to them in a while to be honest... been on a CD listening tear here lately. I'll give 'em a listen when I get out of work today. (Besides, I'm not old enough to have heard the songs when they came out to know what they're SUPPOSED to sound like!) *grin*

Well with prices goping sky high in everything else cutbacks are warranted. So if it's "half a song" be thankful you are getting that.:) ahh I should go into politics:).
