First Dallas buys KMAD-FM

I'm thinking KMAD may go online only to combat Radio K and Bucy Radio the local internet radio stations in town which is causing some fierce competition for the digital/streaming radio market or mad rock will just go away completely on fm and online and only KMKT And KLAK will remain.
If KMAD remains as a streaming property and that is a distinct possibility, it is not because of other local internet stations. No local internet streaming station whether its in Sherman or anywhere else has anywhere near enough reach to "cause some fierce competition".

Like Liberty mentions, it would be the more logical station to flip between it and KMKT. Hard to imagine the only local AC in the area leaving the air, though.
Eh, there is KQDR, KBBC, KGAF, and Star 102.1 all available that all have varying degrees of reception and AC formatics. Albeit KQDR is CHR.

May 15 came and went, and 102.5 is still classic rock KMAD-FM this afternoon (5/17). Per some of the requirements for closing the sale, First applied to change the the status of 102.5 from commercial to non-commercial and change the station calls to KZBH, which the application requested take effect 5/15. But all those applications and an amended license transfer two weeks ago remain in a pending status at the FCC.

Whenever a call change is filed with a sale, it does not take affect until closing. The 5/15 date is just a placeholder for a tentative closing date in LMS.

Today the FCC granted the call change to KZBH as well as the non-comm license switch.

Is the station currently off the air?
Yes, they signed off officially at 7:08 Tuesday night and then didn’t shut off their Transmitter until 7:30. As of 2:20 PM Wednesday their Transmitter is still off the air.

The 102.5 Transmitter is now back on and is simulcasting KCBI.
It seems to be a separate feed just promoting the new format as 102.5 is just running contemporary Christian music that is different than what is on KCBI-FM 90.9. The 102.5 RDS display says "KCBI coming."
