First e-skip opening of the year; 6/02/2016

After a long time waiting for any long-range DX on FM...I finally got my first opening of the year today. At least 4 new, and maybe more. All of these were logged with the new and improved Radio Shack DX-402 (thanks Bruce/rbrucecarter5!) 150KHZ narrow filters on FM. All times are Pacific.

10:22AM - first wisps of skip on 88.3
10:23AM - 94.1 KKXK Montrose, CO; mentioned Star Drive-In Theater and showing of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows"; ID "94 Kix". NEW #520, 100KW at 856 miles.
10:29AM - 101.5 KRMQ Clovis, NM; very strong with ID "the all new Big 101.5" and several local ads. Relog, 100KW at 1239 miles.
10:30AM - 88.3 UNID - "support for Colorado Public Radio comes from..." couldn't hear a local ID, probably KPRH Montrose, 3.5KW
10:36AM - Highest MUF noted. 105.5 w/ classic hits, i.e. "Takin' it to the Street" Doobie Brothers; through KRSE splatter.
10:39AM - 100.7 KLVF Las Vegas, NM w/ call ID "KLVF" through splatter. NEW #521, 10KW at 1100 miles.
10:41AM - 102.5 KZII Lubbock, TX; fair to good with ID "Lubbock's #1 Hit Music Station, 102.5 Kiss FM" into top 40 music. NEW #522, 100KW at 1333 miles.
10:43AM - 102.3 KKYC Clovis, NM; fair with rapid fading. Classic rock and ID "The Wolf." NEW #523, 25KW at 1239 miles.
10:44AM - UNID 101.9 sounded like Christian rock. Probably KXWA Centennial, CO which would be a relog from years ago.
10:45AM - 92.3 KIJN Farwell, TX; start of Accelerate Church program (they are in Amarillo); matched program sked. Relog, 100KW at 1246 miles.
10:52AM - 95.9 STRONG signal with fishing reports mentioning New Mexico and the city of Hagerman...maybe KSSR, will post a clip later. Also 96.7 w/ One More Night Phil Collins, UNID as it faded.
11:10AM - 96.3 KLLL Lubbock, TX; good over KRCW with several local ads, one for Gene Wilder Chevrolet as well. Relog, 100KW at 1333 miles.

Will update if there's any more. Good opening today!

Congrats, crainbebo. E-skip lives! Too bad your TX catches didn't extended about 300 miles further down, or south TX would've been in on the fun, too.

That would all be double hop...and it's very rare. I would need to align the first hop with a second hop as well.

Well, it's about that time of year, isn't it? Anyway, congratulations on some nice "season openers". There was evidently some nice FMDX when I was in North Carolina last week, but I didn't get the chance to check it out. However, I think that was probably tropo and not E-skip.
