First ever nationwide EAS test next week

Just got an update from Radio World and the FEMA technical director in charge of the test says they'll do it again; time frame is thought to be 6 months. It was reported in the article that the stations that got the test first were on a phone link...I blame Ma Bell. ;D

I've recently been contacted by stations asking if I know whether or not their report of the test has been filed...that's a sobering testimonial.

I guess that's called PROGRESS my friends.
Haven't seen any updates on another attempt, and I don't know that I personally care, but if we DID have a national emergency I'd like to think the word via EAS in a timely manner...oh heck who am I kidding??

To get the word out, all they need to do is break into Facebook. Who is anyone kidding...

It's sad the EAS system can't be better designed. It's going to take a failure during a real national emergency for the system to ever get better.
