First Flynn, now Roper?

Considering that WTQR has been doing a lot better, I think this is bull sh--!
 
It may be my imagination, but Roper sound like he's trying to have a country accent. I mean, he sounds like he's trying too hard. My advice to him would be to relax and be yourself, quit trying to sound country to appeal to the listeners. People will see the pretense.

Wow! Really? Guess it's been a book or so since I saw their numbers. Is that the new People Meter book? How did they look with Adults 35-64? in Morning Drive?
 
Yeah, that's PPM data, wasn't any better 35-64 for TQR in morning drive.

Yikes! The People Meter has not been kind to WTQR! I had no idea the current book was that bad for them.
 
Well, early in 2009, Jeff Roper bought a FM station in Greenwood, SC (94something) along with a Greenwood AM station. He also bought an AM station in Belton, SC that he changed the call letters to WROP-AM (for Roper). Jeff`s company was called "Big Fish Broadcasting". He started it in 2008 with his wife. By late summer 2009, all of his stations went dark and the stations went into bankruptcy. Jeff`s dad Jack Roper is a long-tenured Weatherman/ Local Talk show host for WSPA-TV 7 CBS out of Spartanburg, SC. I wouldn`t be surprised if he ends up back in SC with his daddy Jack. Jeff had the rep. for being a smart-mouthed know it all in SC.

I think his programming capabilities are on a par with Tom. Reducing Angie to nothing more than a giggle in AM Drive is pathetic. What a waste! She was a strong personality that was much loved and now her name's not even mentioned as a part of the morning show. I think Roper is awful! He sounds like he's making fun of southern accents and he isn't even a tiny bit funny. He sounds fake and contrived, not what Country fans like at all. Country fans like "real" people. The morning show is all about him. Who cares?
 
Well, Roper has proven to be a REAL station ratings killer. Just ask the folks in South Carolina about that. He kills most stations that he has anything to do with for any period of time. I bet WTQR is REALLY missing Aunt Eloise now-LOL!
 
They're NOT missing Aunt Eloise, but they ARE missing a good morning show. They'd have been better off letting Angie Ward handle it by herself! At least it would have had some warmth and been somewhat entrtaining. Plus, CC could have cut out another salary!
