First JACK in Florida!

OK, here's a pop quiz: Since you have such strong feelings about JACK, what are *you* programming on *your* radio station?

Tell us what sort of personality you have on your station, what you are programming and why.

If you don't want to discuss it in the open (*although I can't imagine why not*) - email me at [email protected]

yayayyayayya this damn station is soooo goood. the only bad thing about moving from palm bay to altamonte is i can't get it except when i DX on good nights :(. I know jack fm is "the mc donalds of radio" but i like it. we need jack here in altamonte
ahhahha maybe not, but it was an idea.

hey, remember back in 03 or 04 wgnx tried an alternative format? people were pissed. but gnx was a good format as well.
I remember just before the switch to jack, wgnx played blocks of music from different formats. they even did all christmas and spanish. it was interesting radio. i kinda liked it. then on monday it went to jack. the only bad part is non local on air tallent.

couldn't help to notice that pete degraph is part of that station. anyone remember hearing him on "xl 106.7"? and pete if ya read this, sorry for misspelling your name.
ok i'm done here.

It is most probably an ABC Jack. Vero Beach is market #100, and IIRC ABC shall be used at market 40 and below.

Market 50 and below is licensed to ABC.....Above, it is licensed locally through the original JACK.

What do you mean by local? The jack station in Indy only runs canned voicers. There's no personality, no local involvement. It's a jukebox.

Even if the Indy jack has a PD and MD who actually work here locally, it doesn't affect its on-air sound. Radio's strength is its personal nature. Canned voicers & no local involvement render a local MD/PD useless. There's nothing personal about a jukebox.

WOW Stepp, you sound like you lost your gig becasue of a JACK station. To your displeasure i'm sure you should understand that Jack Nashville (a local) sounds extremely different than the ABC version of Jack. Both are well programmed and well imaged. The music on Jack Nashville is set for the local landscape and listeners get it. Whether you like it or not radio has done it to itself with so-called "Personalities" that really suck and no training ground for new talent. Jack was a format that was bound to happen. And the back breker for you i'm sure is people like it....A LOT!

As for Jack Indy, I don't have a positive reponse to Indy becasue they took Jack (much like some of the CBS versions) down the same old radio path. The successful Jack are the ones that are doing what it was set out to be.

And finally for your "jukebox" theory...you might be forgetting biggest thing that people want out of their jack staions...MUSIC!
