First KCNL, Will KSJO?

KSJO-92.3 is doing pretty good with Spanish Oldies so I wonder, Does Clear Channel syndicate the "La Preciosa" to other stations other than their own? Are their any other NON-Clear Channel "La Preciosa" Radio Stations in the U.S.? Maybe David Eduardo knows?

They are building an expensive La Preciosa Network studio in SJ, so don't look for KSJO to flip back to rock any time soon.

yeah they do already syndicate to other markets. you haven't seen this website yet?
http://lapreciosa.com/
Yes I have seen that website. Which of those radio stations listed ARE NOT OWNED BY CLEAR CHANNEL? They are ALL owned by Clear Channel. In my original post I wrote that I was wondering if Clear Channel syndicates to NON-Clear Channel stations. If Clear Channel does sell the San Jose cluster, KSJO will then become a Non-Clear Channel Station. Since KSJO is successful with their Spanish Oldies Format, It'll probably remain but will it be under a different name than "La Preciosa"?

they might still keep ksjo, or maybe keep 98.5 and sell 92.3 and put la preciosa on 98.5

I might be wrong, but isn't Clear Channel being forced to sell ALL of their San Jose stations or just some?

If Clear Channel does sell all of their San Jose stations, would they switch one of their San Francisco stations to "La Preciosa"? Like maybe KKSF-103.7?

maybe to 101.3

I love it. KSJO...Spanish. My time goes waaaay back when KSJO was owned by a Peabody, Chicago coal money, and paid the bills with a couple of SCA mono music channels. On the main, we played Jazz...not Yuppie Jazz...and folk at night. Used to shut down the EVergreen exchange there in San Jose from all the requests coming in from all over the Bay. Transmitter was up on the Mount Hamilton road then. Let's see...that was some 45 years ago. How time flies!

Inside Radio reported that Clear Channel would have to sell 3 stations in San Francisco and 3 stations in San Jose. This is not correct! They have to reduce the amount of stations in one market or the other by 3-FMs. In this situation they will choose to sell 3 San Jose stations and zero San Francisco stations. If they have other stations in San Jose they may include them in a cluster to attact more buyers.

Premier Radio a Clear Channel company does syndicated programing and makes it available to all stations if they are not in the market. However in the past when Clear Channel has come into a market and they want their own programining, the non-Clear Channel station would receive the standard 90-day notice of cancelation. This did happed to KSCO, 1080 Khz. Santa Cruz years back.

So will that situation change and will they now syndicate to the best station in the market for each show?

What are you comments on this?

Only XHOCL in Tijuana is non-CCU owned. The new owners bought it from Clear and its Mexican licensee, and kept the format... but it is doing so badly it may not survive as the new owner has considered a networked talk format out of the DF for that frequency.

Several of the affiliates are being sold, but nobody knows if they will keep the networked Preciosa format. Since that format is slipping badly in many places, they may not.
