I kind of doubt that they will have an airstaff. From what I've heard, they are supposed to be modeled after Citadel's Variety Hits sister station in Albuquerque ("103.3 Ed FM" KDRF) I've checked the website at
www.ed.fm and from what I can tell, they have no dj's after being on the air for the better part of a year. I'd say that the
www.ed.fm site is probably a good prediction of how "98-7 Earl FM" will sound and be presented. Maybe I'm wrong and they will do things a bit differently since they have direct competition, but from what I've heard, it's supposed to be modeled after their "Ed FM" station, so I wouldn't be surprised to see no jocks.
Also, as a side note, I don't like their voiceover guy either. It's the same guy that did "the River" sweepers and they sound cheap and homemade. Anyway, just my opinion. But on the other hand, I kind of like the music mix of "Earl" better than crosstown "Jack". "Earl" is more classic hits based with more 70's and even 60's classic hits type stuff (Billy Joel, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, Buffalo Springfield, etc.), while "Jack" is more 80's pop based. They both rely heavily on 80s pop, but I'd say that "Earl" mixes in more 70's classic hits/soft classic rock type stuff. More of a mix of a Variety Hits/AAA type format.
