First/Last songs of formats

Here are some I remember personally...

96.7 Legends to Christian Talk: "Thanks for the Memory" by Bob Hope and Shirley Ross
105.7 The Buzz to Crush FM: "Get This Party Started" by Pink
104.9 The Edge to Cat Country: "Cat Scratch Fever" by Ted Nugent to "Building Bridges" by Brooks & Dunn (I *think* Nugent was cutoff mid-song... interestingly, the flip was like two days after 100.9's flip to "Bridge")
100.9 The Bridge to Rock 100.9: "Under the Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers (worked great; since it fits on both Adult Hits and Active Rock playlists)
Channel 1031 to WGY simulcast: "New Divide" by Linkin Park
94.5 The Bone to K-Love: "Ride the River" by Eric Clapton (was interrupted midway into the song, followed by dead air and then the K-Love satellite feed)

Does anyone remember any other first/last songs of formats (such as the first song on Magic 100.9 in 2001 or the very first song on B95.5 in 1993/94)? :)

I can take credit for the WHRL/WGY-FM transition song. I came up with the idea at about 11:50pm and played the song around 11:56pm while loading all the new imaging in before splitting the STL. Was able to time it out to end at exactly 11:59:50 so that the new Legal ID hit before FOX News. I'm glad somebody noticed!

wbpm: when the maxwells sold b94m they kept playing a michael jackson song ... think it was "wanna get something started" but dont quote me. from what i heard, too, that people kept calling kingston police complaining that they were playing the same song! cant make this stuff up!!

And don't forget, the last song on WBPM's "Rhythm 94.3" before it flipped to oldies was "Last Dance" by Donna Summer. I disn't listened it prior to the flip, because I had a Thanksgiving dinner at one time back in 2001. When "Rhythm 94.3" started, they played a loop of songs including "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" by Michael Jackson and then the following day, "Turn the Beat Around" by Vicki Sue Robinson.

The last song that it was played on WBPM's "Cool 92.9" was "Imagine" by John Lennon, that was right before the last day of Tom Kent's syndicated "Classic Top 40" show and then the stunting to "Classic Hits 92.9" until it kicked off at 1:00 PM the next day and the first song was done by Dire Straits.

Prior to WBPM's oldies on 92.9, they played a loop of "Without Me" by Eminem before it became "92.9 Rock" after the then WRKW pulled the plug on "Quality Rock" and went to active rock.

When WEOK and WALL dropped Radio Disney and flipped to True Oldies, the last song on Radio Disney was the Mickey Mouse Club Alma Mater. It was followed by the national anthem, 24 hours of Surfin Bird by the Trashmen, and then the first song on True Oldies was Rock Around The Clock by Bill Haley and His Comets.

Over in Westchester, the last song that it was played on WYNY's "Y107" was "The Dance" by Garth Brooks, and that eds the country quadcast on all four stations on 107.1, the station went to a Spanish station known as "Rhumba 107". That was from around 2001 or 2002.

Way back on October 1, 1990.... WGY-FM 99.5 transitioned from Top 40 "Electric 99" to Oldies 99.5 with the Righteous Brothers "Unchained Melody"...a 1965 hit that had been re-released in 1990. The best stunting that I think that I have heard was Active Rock station Z-Rock WZRQ transitioning to Classic Rock 102.3 WXCR in October, 1996. They went from Z-Rock to the Rock and Roll time Tunnel....Starting off with current music from 1996 that they had been playing as Z-Rock and gradually moving backwards in time over the course of the week to 1967....and than launching the Classic Rock format out of 1967....This promotion lasted for a solid week as I recall....
