First New AM Log since April - 8/2/13

Finally got my first new log since April on AM late last night, as conditions were very good.

700 - KMBX Soledad, CA; male talking in SS, antenna beaming N-S, u/ KGRV. A look at their webstream matched the audio I heard on 700. NEW #478, 700W night, 790 miles; using 3-foot box loop and variable capacitor.

Also heard last night were WBBM 780 Chicago right under KKOH with an ad for Amazing Windows and Siding (800-4-SIDING) and "WBBM news time, 2:25" @ 0025 PDT; 560 KMON blaring in with country music; WBAP 820 u/ KGNW, and my BEST EVER signal of KTKN 930 in AK! Sounded like a local for a few minutes.

Nice catch on the California station. I'll have to keep my ears peeled for it next time conditions kick in on 700 khz. Usually I feel lucky if I get KXLX Spokane beneath the KIRO splash.
