FIRST OFFICIAL COMPLAINT

That's right, folks! We have our FIRST OFFICIAL recorded complaint!
http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=177166.0

I forgot exactly who said there will eventually be a backlash on today's whole uptempo and dance sound, but I guess this person gets the credit for being a leader, the pioneer of the backlash! They deserves a specialized, one of a kind "Quasi, Uptempo R&B, Bubble Gum, Hip House , Pop, House & B, Trey Songz, techno is dead" T-shirt or attire - whenever it becomes available.

Have pitbull puch him....lol..j/k.... no dont endorse violence.. but that just makes me not want to listen to any hip hop at all now,, the only people that will buy those is straight hood rat trash.. Listen to any local rhythmic leaning chr,, like Radio Now Indy,, and listen to the ratio of Uptempo songs with house beats, compared to the dated beat box rap beats,, if anything RAP is Dead... RAP IS CRAP.. this make's me want to stop listening to all rhythmic radio and only support stations like Vibe,, E-98,, DI,,Shoutdrive--Todays Beat Radio,, and radio dance,, Fusion, b-91, 96.7 Party, Sirius XMs BPM and The Oh SO Awesome new sound of (ELECTRIC) AREA..... Which by the way,, I know someone who brought back the illicit free winamp stream of Electric Area :D :p ;) http://75.126.64.105:8071/

The original post that KDM posted is by a co-worker of mine (I think) who does weekends at an old school station. He simply pointed out that CHR had more variety back in his glory days. More currents were rotated and the playlists he once jocked consisted of many music types, as opposed to the cookie cutter pop sound that is now dominating.

It was just a matter of time guys. We are all "gung ho" about mainstream crossing over with dance, but don't forget that's exactly what killed dance in the mid 90's. It got over exposed (like Disco) and the people turned on it. Everything goes in cycles, and I can totally see why someone is getting tired of the same beat all over the radio.

I think its silly for turning this into a hip hop debate and making it a war. I didn't really see anything wrong with what he said. Scrappy didn't even mention hip hop or dance. Not only that, but he posted it on the Phx board....to debate CHR (not Dance), so I bet he isn't even aware of this convo. He wasn't bad mouthing dance, he just said RADIO is sounding like a rave now. It's true though....CHR is suppose to include a mix of all types, and it has changed over the years. Remember the early 90's when 90210 was huge? What was on radio....Snow, Wilson Phillips, MC Hammer, Cece Peniston, Color Me Bad, Salt N Pepa, George Micheal....it was a wide variety. Now? Kesha, Pitbul, T Pain, Kesha, Gaga, Pitbul, Kate Perry, Gaga, Jason Derulllllllooo. They all sound the same.

Hey Folks—Just because Jay-Z decided to complain about auto-tune one day, doesn't mean everything is auto-tuned, and even if it was, everything is synthetic nowadays anyway....we aren't stupid...I think most people knew Cher's - Believe wasn't her real voice doing that lol..I mean come on! We are living in the age of technology...techno music is created with modern technology. "Added to this is the influence of futuristic and fictional themes"(wikipedia: Techno).
I think Chris Willis said it best "Yeah I played with auto-tune in the studio, but when I perform live..it's all real"..and I can confirm that he hit every note without auto-tune...so did Kimberly Locke last friday. For those who were here for the last 7 years, when everyone was saying "dance was dead"...you should be padding yourselves on the shoulder for witnessing the mainstreaming of Dance...instead of listening to other people who are jealous. I'm going to quote that facebook movie you can't make a "million friends without making a few enemies". Just keep doing what you're doing and don't let other forces dictate what dance music is. Consider this: Taylor Swift's backbone support is Country radio. Her crossing over to mainstream doesn't mean country stations are going to change what they do. Deadmau5, Cascada, Guetta, they managed to cross over, but they still need their Dance Radio base.
