First Show For KLIF-FM

Surprise, it will be a non-local syndicated show... "Access Hollywood" co-host Billy Bush will start a CHR version of his hot AC nighttime talk and entertainment show and Cumulus will run it on its top 40s like KLIF-FM, KRBE Houston, and WWWQ Atlanta. I'm sure KHKS is trembling in fear...

This is about as exciting as when Chevy Chase made his debut on late-night TV.

When will they learn??? No local in DFW for a morning show = station failure. Idiots!
Is it going to be a morning show?

I've read that his show is a night time show...And I've heard promos on 93-3 that talk about more music in the morning, no talk all the time, etc. Both obvious knocks on Kidd-

(and isn't Kidd technically a syndicated morning show? Sure he's from here, and broadcasts from here, but that show is pretty darn generic, i.e "non-local") and they're number 1 in the market)

If I were them, I'd leave music on in the morning and see just how many people don't care to listen to Kidd et al. After all, if they're targeting the 20-25 year old female, Kidd has been on the air in DFW longer than they've been alive. Not sure how "relatable" Kidd, kellie, etc are to a 20-something woman.

Not 100% sure what i93 has planned but...

The Billy Bush Show:
Houston KRBE-FM 104.1 7a-10a

Note: This is according to The Billy Bush Show website and not KRBE's. KRBE lists Roula and Ryan in the morning...

You would think that the company that locally programs The Ticket, and bills $24,000,000 per year off of it would realize the value of local personalities.

I live in Beaumont TX and know of KLIF am the talk stain, KLIF form the 1970's and 196-s but was surprised to see KLIF fm mentioned, What is KIF fm's format? What format was it before? What frequency is it, The last time I was in Dallas was last September,

You don't get it do you? Jan Jeffries will go jockless or syndicated 90%. That way when ratings go up, even a tenth IT WAS ALL HIM. :D Why have jocks/personalities when you have the GREAT JAN JEFFRIES.

More music in the morning means----Cheap Salary

Last I looked KDBN had a .4

A POINT FOUR.

If I was running the buisness I'd be looking to run with as low an overhead as I could get away with.

The interesting thing will be to see #1 if they're at all succesful (although anything will be an improvement on a .4) and #2 if they do spend any money on anything (jocks, promotions, billboards, etc) if/when they're ratings go up.

I think a one-man morning show, without a lot of talk (and a lot of people that need paid) could/would compete with KISS. I talked to a friend of mine's teenage daughter, and she already prefers i93 to Kidd in the morning. Because they play so much more music.

Sure that's anecdotal evidence. But if there's women 18-34 who have been listening to Kiss (and not liking Kidd) or listening to Mix or KVIL or K104 (even though the music isn't on target for them) or whoever because KISS doesn't give them their music fix, there's a possible vulnerability there...

I don't think Cumulus intended to keep the Quality Rock format. The did what Salem did to KSKY when they bought it, the were buidling the talk format. KSKY got their night time pattern fixed, and then the flip occurred. Cumulus was putting I 93 together the whole time that Quality Rock was running.

I've already spotted an i93 billboard near Downtown Fort Worth. That's more promotion than FM93.3 got...

I agree Jeff
