First Station to go Christmas. Is wagering allowed on this board?

How to monitize this post....hmmm.

I will bet THE TRACK (107.9 FM) goes all-santa first in Indy. It will be the prelude to a more lucrative and focused format change to Classic Hits/Classic Oldies.

Anyone?

That is possible, I think Cumulus took 94 CHR hoping it will affect WHHH or WTLC so it don't have a chance to make it to #1 but 94 may affect WNOU more than 2nd and 3rd station.

If I was 107.9, would call it the Greatest Hits, not classic hits, now days most stations use the classic hit's name and they just play the rock side of classic hit and not the dance side.

The first station in the state is usually WHFB in South Bend. The first week in November is pretty standard for them.

I bet B105 will be the ONLY station in Indianapolis to go to a heavy Christmas rotation. Cumulus won't let local management decide to let I94 go Christmas, since they're not done with their latest format experiment [I-insert frequency here] across the country. The Track? Possible, but I bet we would have to hear a NEW PD and/or OM announcement out of E-com first. They just jettisoned the DOS, so it appears they're interested in fixing sales first before any format changes.

You're half right, or rather two-thirds.

Track WILL go Xmas, probably next Friday or Saturday.
Track WILL have a new format to begin 2010.
It WILL NOT be of the Classic Hits/Oldies variety.

B105 will do it, too, but I-94 will not.

I-94 will survive the traditional Cloudy 18 months in a format for 93.9 since Cloudy bought Susquehanna 3 years ago. so that means we can be talking bout a late 2010 change after 93.9 has been so buried that it has no listeners. We all callled this in July that they fail with an attempt at CHR. there is no way that they could compete with Rythmic Heavy WNOU and Adult CHR WZPL buy going Dayparted Adult CHR/Recurrent Heavy during the day, CHR/Recurrent heavy at Night. Shouldve gone all 90's instead couldve gotten a good 3 years out of that like WNAP did with the 70's in the mid 90.s and 93.9 Did with 80's early this decade

I remember year before last, my wife and I went to Chicago for an extended weekend and we came across one of the soft rock stations that was playing Christmas. But it wasn't the junk Christmas mix that you usually here. It was was classic/traditional Christmas music. We didn't turn the station the entire weekend.

I haven't been back to Chicago during the holidays to see if they still do it.

I wish I could remember the station that did it. Hats off to them.

Was it WLIT. They are big into the Christmas music every year.

Yes it was. I had to check the frequency at their website and now after Delilah (yuck) is over, I'll check to see if they are still playing classic Christmas since they stream.

I have heard WMEE and WAJI go all Christmas this evening 11/6/09. 97 said it was for the weekend. Haven't heard 95 say one way or the other. Other than retailers, who wants this stuff?

WXCH 102.9 Hope/Columbus went all Christmas around Nov 1.

I really like most Christmas music (after Halloween).

Maybe no one's going to switch formats after Christmas this year...
