.....Spencer Hughes finally got two in the sombrero from Wittemore! NOW the bad news...Not-So Fienburg is still coming down for breakfast! OOOuch! AND those dopes at the shoe factory are cutting the end off of Flying Saucer/Bigfoot Talk weekends for I'm guessing H57 Hoodia infomercials! Yechhhh! It's enough to drive you to drink...hey then I can tune in to the Loathsome Alkie hour! I guess there IS a method to Julie's Fookin' Madness! .... SeeYa..;0

radio talk channel, so maybe too busy as it is

Umm, no...he IS a friend of Gene Burns. You may not like him, but he is.

It doesn't mean Mr. Burns likes and agrees with everything Spencer does on the air. It means that he's a mentor of Spencer's and likes the guy. The association is genuine...if you think it means Spencer should be Gene Burns Jr., that's your problem, not his. Complex thoughts don't seem to go well on this board.

For that matter, I'm a friend of Spencer's, and have been for a number of years. I don't agree with him all or even most of the time, but off the air, he is a genuine guy. I can't speak for the guy, but I'm pretty sure Gene Burns would agree about that.

And that's my last reply on the topic here, as it does indeed appear he's off the WRKO schedule and officially out of the Boston radio market. He's now doing weekday afternoons (2-5 PM ET) on the same XM Satellite Radio channel that carries FOX News' syndicated radio hosts.

I'll just remind folks who spent inordinate amounts of time on this board obsessing over Spencer's three hour Sunday afternoon show that I mentioned new management could very well make changes that wouldn't include him, and that's what just happened.

Well, as I said, I don't agree with his views a lot of the time, and he knows it. But I was a bit upset by the intimation that Spencer was not genuine about his friendship with Gene Burns. The two go back to his days at KGO and they ARE friends.

While I'm quite sure Burns "put in a good word" for Spencer when he was first talking to WRKO, the station assumably hired him because they liked what he could do for them, not because Gene Burns brought on some word from on high and said "I'm A Boston Talk Radio Legend, Hire Him".

That was my only problem with your previous message. I don't really care if you liked or didn't like him on the air, or if anyone does...and as mentioned, he's now off WRKO, so it's a moot point.

Maybe with less Noory/Bell on Sunday they will play Drudge's full show. I swapped over to XM Sunday nights to listen to Drudge uninterrupted.
