Was WCVB the first channel that went 24 hours? Who was the man in the shadows? And do you remember the newsreels that they would show?
 
I believe you are asking who was the MC during WCVB's 5 all night programming hours, correct?
I may not have the last name spelled correctly but it was George Fanell who was the MC.

As Far as I know, in New England, channel 5 WCVB was the first station to go 24/7/365.
