FIVE-NINETY FECKLESSNESS

I was curious so I looked up feh - as in "Feh, don't touch that dirty thing" - it's Yiddish!
So now we have the Feckless Feh 590?

There could be a method to the madness-I mean-fecklessness at WROW: the station's afternoon drive has offered some big name guests, but there has been little recognition (other than the highly critical blog posting that I cited in the beginning of this thread). Word's out that important guests are indeed appearing on 590. They're just not being asked anything important. Or they are, but the host forgets or never gets around to asking. It's a way to create publicity, but the market competitor has a better formula:

Talk1300 has the crafty seasoned expert, Fred Dicker on the payroll, who not only digs facts up like a little gopher, but writes his own newspaper material in the NY Post, and often gets cited by The New York Times, in articles such as
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/02/05/choice-of-a-new-archbishop-might-be-near/
Scroll down in that article you'll see a reference to Dicker AND Talk1300.

The week JOE BRUNO was indicted, he was a guest on WROW in the 5pm hour. Nobody in newspaper or TV land apparently heard it. It was very good listening. The Afternoon Drive crew deserve KUDOS, but the broadcast was quoted NOWHERE! ( Next time, 590, grab a sound clip, get a press release together and email The New York Times, The Daily News, The TimesUnion, all the other papers in a 100 mile radius. You coulda had a nice batch of PR at a time when Bruno was in high media demand. )
