Fixing DAVE-FM

This station should be an Alternative station like KROQ/KITS. From what I understand, Atlanta is a young market, give a younger demo something to listen to...

Great idea! New format, new call letters and stop using talents that didn't work before. If they can't maintain a top 10-15 in their demo then they really need to go, I mean really.

If the latest trends don't make them switch formats or at least replace someone, I don't know what will.

"Alternative" died in Atlanta two years ago. I doubt WZGC will flip to a format that was on life-support here for years, was finally killed off and is now dying a second, almost-unnoticed death at 97.9.

Much to many people's dismay, CHR is the logical choice. Engage RobThomas-100 and Snore 94 head-to-head and force one to flip out of the format.

From looking at all the "alternative" stations' playlists in Atlanta, there is a more of an "active rock" edge to those stations. Take out those elements, and make it a true alternative. It's hard to explain, just study KROQ's and Live 105's playlists and you will see what I am talking about.

CBS may not be quick to just immediately go with CHR anymore. Here in L.A., AMP is clearly fading fast, and KIIS is still on top. In NYC, 92.3 NOW has been bad from the start, and is nowhere close to beating any of their competitors.

What you're saying is, people with money <3 Ke$ha. I refuse to believe that.

As all things are cyclical, I believe CHR is on a downward slope again.

92.9 should take an example from KFOG 104.5 in San Francisco how to program their station. I listen to KFOG over the internet and they are a consistent Top 10 station in the Bay Area.

I looked at KFOG's top songs on yes.com and you're right JR... I like what they're doing. Same core songs as DAVE-FM but with a novel idea; VARIETY!!!!

Somebody to love - Jefferson Airplane
China groove - Doobie Bros
Feelin Alright - Joe Cocker
Superstition - Stevie Wonder

Stray Cats, Doors, Beatles, Zeppelin, Romantics etc...

HELLO DAVE!! COPY KFOG'S PLAYLIST!

You're right-KFOG varies up their playlist in a unique but right way-they mix in the right blend of classic rock, new rock, triple-A, and some R&B (aka. Stevie Wonder).

Suggestion-listen at 1PM EST to KFOG's "Ten at Ten" where they feature ten songs in a chosen year from any decade going back to the late 60's to as recent at the 90's and will play ten songs from their selected year that day.
