Flagstaff's KNAZ

Last week, I saw a headline on newsblues.com that read as follows: "Gannett selling crappy little Flagstaff station". I'm assuming this is referring to their NBC affiliate there, KNAZ, since I don't think they own any other station in that part of the state.

If this is true, who is buying the station? Will KNAZ keep its NBC affiliation or will Gannett start beaming in KPNX from Phoenix via a translator station like the other Phoenix affiliates do?

And we all know that if the Republic doesn't report it, it didn't happen!! ;-)

In this case we're talking about another Gannett station. The Repulsive would definitely publish a press release on any potential sale of one of its sister Arizona properties.

KNAZ in Flagstaff IS UP FOR SALE...... Gannett does not have a buyer yet but a meeting was called a couple of weeks ago to inform all employees that the station was on the market.

The "crappy little station" is a substantial community resource, with the only local TV newscasts covering Flagstaff, Prescott, the Verde Valley and Navajo and Hopi reservations.

Lets hope new owners can continue an important service.
