Flash 92.1

Flash 92.1 Becomes KCCL K-Hits-92.1 at twelve noon today listen up or you will miss the change over! The oldies of the 60's and 70's are back in Sacramento! Just like First Broadcasting! Video killed the radio star is the last song or so it seems! Flash 92.1 is now history! Elton John, Crocodile Rock was the first song! Perhaps Tony Cox has a new job?

They paid him a bu*tload of money for him to come back to radio at the last gig. Six figures in fact. I highly doubt that First has the bucks to offer. But then again, you never know what First will do to off that stick. What doesn't make any sense to me is that the numbers weren't good when anyone else had the format, so why does First think it's going to work for them.

Because they are programing the music to insure a boatload of TSL. I love it! Puts Mix 96.1 to shame! It will be interesting to see how well it does! But I'm not holding my breath!

It is just another juke box of music from automation? If so what is the reason to listen?

Do they have plans to make it a real radio station? Last I heard they are having a tough time finding a buyer.

I am out of the signal range so if someone there could listen and describe their sound it woudl be appreciated.

Thanks,
newsperson

I was told that it's a feed, and they're going to hire anyone. Jack (93.7) here in town seems to be working well without jocks, so they decided to do the same thing. It's all about the $$$$$.

The reference to Jack is amusing, particularly because the local head honcho was actually foolish enough to comment on Jack's success in a recent newspaper article. Various sources report that all programming and continuity is being performed in Dallas and is sent for daily integration to Sac. Hardly anything at that station is being done locally - some production and a GM's bumbling is just about all that's left. As far as hiring, it seems the only jobs available are the many sales positions that were vacated after the flip due to bad management and a distaste for the poor ethics displayed by FB. It's a sad state of affairs.
