And, yes, CC would pull Delilah back as soon as her (rather, Premiere's/CC's) K with Cox/B98.5 is up. I was a little surprised that Cox put Delilah on to begin with, considering this possibility.

Premiere doesn't switch business away from good big clients, just to put a show on a Clear Channel station. If they put all their good stuff on Clear Channel stations, it would hurt their business overall.

They did it with Dr. Laura, but that was 10 years ago when WGST was somewhat more competitive.

Tell that to, oh...KDKA (for example)

BTW: When does Premiere take over Hannity's syndication? When is Hannity's K with WSB up? If Barack gets elected, Hannity's and Rush's ratings will go through the roof, and I am sure that WGST would like a bigger piece of that. Nobody wanted to listen to Rush throw softballs Nerf balls at W.

Premiere takes over in 2009, and that's who WSB will deal with and pull from the satellite channel. It would be interesting to see if Clear Channel will be able to force Hannity off SB and onto GST. They could even guarantee a live show instead of a 4-7 delay.

Having the show live would be a big plus...but it wouldn't work on 640 during the winter, with 5:30 sunsets (not to mention skywave chop before that) clipping off the end of the show.

I think CC would do it if they had a class A clear or an FM, but I don't think that CC would even attempt it without a viable signal from 5:00 on--and I think that they realize that Hannity would draw more on WSB than WGST, and they could get more from Cox than they would make in-house. I think that that was the death of Dr. Laura on WGST (although Cruella was after 6, which was even worse, but the same situation applied).

Jabba17 (and his daughter) is right. Here’s one more thing, Why would sin, I mean Sean, want to go live on a station that has no ratings when he can be #1 in the day part on tape delay?

We have had this discussion before and the learned amongst us decided that Sin is staying at GOP, I mean WSB, I get them confused.

Plus, even if CC put GST on 94.9 there are no guarantees that they wouldn't screw it up someway and lose GWB Jr's ratings clout in Atlanta.

And they learned their lessons as they moved Rush and Dr. Laura to weaker CC stations, costing themselves enormous revenue in terms of advertising where they make their nut to pay these big contracts. Look at loss in Orlando for example the move was made from WDBO to the CC pea shooter.

Heck, they pulled Dr. Laura off WSB-AM to put on WGST-AM - and it did not even move the meter (or diary) in this case.

In the past few years they have wisely decided to let each division stand on its own. Witness when they picked up Deliah it was not pulled from WWRM in Tampa and given to WMTX. Premiere Execs made it very clear that the rules of the 90s were no longer in effect.

Re: flip for bull and el patron

So, Randy. Your thoughts on the 640-105.3-105.7 simulcast with a reinvigorated lineup idea?

And, do you think Clear Channel is looking to clear Elvis and Seacrest in this market?

Clear Channel has no CHR in Atlanta so they can only leave it up to Q100, and I don't think they're biting. And definitely no on Elvis.

There is no way Clear Channel is going to flip both Spanish stations. They could flip one but not both.
